About Battleship Cove
Battleship Cove is a maritime museum and veterans memorial on the Taunton River in Fall River. Its collection includes five National Historic Landmark vessels and craft, led by the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts, along with the destroyer USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., the submarine USS Lionfish, and PT boats 617 and 796. Together, the preserved vessels document naval technology, combat service, and daily life aboard American warships across several twentieth-century conflicts.
Visitors follow self-guided routes through accessible sections of the ships, encountering crew spaces, weapons, machinery, exhibits, memorials, aircraft, and other military artifacts. General admission also includes the nearby Maritime Museum, whose displays provide additional context for the ships and the region’s maritime history. The scale of the vessels and the ability to move through their working spaces make Battleship Cove an immersive destination for military, engineering, and naval-history visitors.
