Rohwer Relocation Center Memorial Cemetery

Rohwer Relocation Center Memorial Cemetery is the principal surviving commemorative landscape of the Rohwer War Relocation Center, where thousands of Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II. The cemetery contains concrete headstones and monuments created by people confined at the camp, including memorials honoring those who died at Rohwer and Japanese American servicemen who served the United States during the war.

Today the cemetery is a quiet, self-guided historic site with interpretive panels, audio stations, a replica guard tower used as an information kiosk, and views across the surrounding Delta landscape. Along with a surviving smokestack nearby, it offers a rare physical connection to a camp whose hundreds of wartime buildings have otherwise disappeared, making it an important place for understanding incarceration, memory, citizenship, and civil rights.
